Quality
Culture of Quality
All of our activities are oriented towards
the importance of the client and the construction
of a collaborative relationship with a
common objective: absolute quality.
Representatives all over the World, coordinated
by Area Managers, offer clients the warranty
of being closely followed. More than twenty
sales managers follow every single client
in all the phases of pre and post sales.
All of our Commercial staff, in collaboration
with our Marketing personnel are oriented
to knowing our clients well in order to
build a relationship of a true partnership.
We know that the quality of our fabrics
and the punctuality of our service can
determine the success of our clients and
their products
An accurate selection of raw materials,
the application of sophisticated technologies,
controls in every phase of the process,
and the use of modern machinery in weaving
and in finishing have resulted in a constant
improvement of quality and efficiency.
An
accurate selection of yarns Cotton used
in yarns destined for shirting fabrics
must be of long fiber. Only a small percentage
of the cotton cultivated in the World
has this characteristic. Albini usually
acquires Egyptian yarns, the best in
the World.
To avoid the problem of faulty yarns,
Albini chooses Supima yarns ®. Supima ®,
the longest fiber cotton and the cleanest
in the World, is cultivated in very limited
quantities in the south and southwestern
areas of the United States. It is harvested
and treated with the most automated technologies
to avoid the contamination of extraneous
fibers.
In addition, for every incoming
lot of yarn, Cotonificio Albini tests
for the presence of contamination and
evenness before accepting it for weaving.
For all other fabrics, Albini has chosen
the Egyptian yarn known as “Giza”,
considered one of the best in the world
for shirting.
A special mention must be done to the
Sea Island Cotton, used in our David & John
Anderson fabrics.
The Sea Island Cotton ® is the longest
fiber cotton in the World (52 mm and
over). Cultivated in very small quantities
(70 – 80 tons a year) in Barbados
and in other Caribbean islands, the Sea
Island Cotton is considered the finest
in the World.
Besides the traditional yarn, Cotonificio
Albini has chosen to use in growing quantities
Compact Yarns.
The compact spinning process
produces a new structure of yarn that
allows us to obtain the following results:
perfect structure, minimum hairiness,
maximum resistance to abrasion, improved
comfort and touch, improved brightness,
clearer chromatic contrasts,and
increased strength. These qualities allow
us to develop new types of fabrics.
The control of finished and raw fabric
Every single fabric meter is inspected
by experienced personnel, with the objective,
where possible, of eliminating or signaling
to the production management information
system, the eventual defect caused by
loom stops or by the intervention of
the operators in the preceding phases.
On its return from the finishing process,
the finished fabric, wrapped in rolls
of 4/5.000 meters, is checked, cut and
wrapped according to the specifications
of each client. During the quality control
process, the fabric runs on a well illuminated
inclined table. The inspector searches,
identifies to the production management
system the defects.
Depending on the dimension and the number
of defects, the system classifies
the bolt of fabric comparing it to the
requirements of the client to whom it
is destined.
The bolt of fabric is cut accordingly
to the meters required by the client
and automatically wrapped with a polyethylene
sheet to protect it for shipping process.
100% of the production is controlled:
40 inspectors control around 16 million
meters of fabrics each year.
